LinkOptimizer is a workflow solution to automatically reduce the size of images linked to InDesign documents by eliminating excessive image data. LinkOptimizer will help you save valuable storage space, save time, and reduce production costs in various ways. Features:
· saves valuable hard drive and backup storage space;
· saves hours (and, for large projects, even days) over optimizing image size and resolution manually;
· increases speed of document printing and creating PDFs. (For high-resolution, image-rich projects, reduce the output time from hours to minutes);
· saves valuable time when transferring jobs to outside sources;
· reduces job cost through faster processing by service providers; and
· speeds overall job turnaround.
LinkOptimizer will automatically reduce the image resolution, scale, and crop the images in Photoshop according to their dimensions in the InDesign document and the target resolution specified, and then reimport them to InDesign at 100%. LinkOptimizer enables you to backup original images linked to InDesign document before the processing, and provides the option to overwrite originals. In addition, LinkOptimizer can automate the following operations:
· converts image colors to CMYK, RGB, or grayscale;
· applies sharpening filters during processing;
· flattens images or merges visible layers;
· deletes hidden layers; and
· runs Photoshop actions during processing.
LinkOptimizer features compared to those of LinkOptimizer Light LinkOptimizer Light does not include the following advanced features of LinkOptimizer:
· processing of images placed multiple times in InDesign document;
· deletion of hidden layers during processing;
· the running of Photoshop actions during processing; and
· provision of a detailed settings summary in the LinkOptimizer window.
