CopyFlow Gold for Adobe Illustrator exports to a simple XML format which preserves the typography. All exports are sorted in logical order; which greatly faciliates the translation process. The tool is designed to batch process an entire folder of Adobe Illustrator files in .ai format for maximum efficiency. Main features:
• To export and then re-import text content, the text frames are ordered automatically.
• CopyFlow Gold is scriptable using Illustrator scripts written in Javascript.
• After installation, CopyFlow Gold adds a menu to the Illustrator Scripts menu. The CFG Tool is a dialog which contains the buttons to begin exports, imports and access to CFG settings.
• CopyFlow Gold is most often used to quickly extract formatted text from an Illustrator document for translation purposes and to return the content after translation.

• Create three directories: one to hold copies of the Illustrator documents you wish to process, one to hold the exported text files and one to hold the files to be imported into the Adobe Illustrator documents after translation(.
NOTE: Always use copies of your Illustrator documents with CopyFlow Gold. Not the originals!) • When the export process is begun, the Illustrator document folder is scanned for Adobe Illustrator files in the native ".ai" format. Each document is opened in turn and the text contents exported to a single .xml file in the specified Text export folder. Each exported file is named with the Illustrator document name and an .xml extension. For example; an Illustrator file named Instruments.ai will produce an exported text file named Instruments.xml. After the text is exported, the Illustrator document is closed. • The .xml files can then be taken from the export folder for translation. After translation the translated XML text files should be placed in the Text Import folder. The files should retain their original name. When the import process is begun the Illustrator document folder is scanned for Adobe Illustrator files in the native ".ai" format. Each Illustrator document is opened in turn and the text contents imported from a file of the same name in the Text Import folder, but with an .xml extension. If the import file for an Illustrator document is not found - a dialog will appear so the file to be imported can be located. • After the text is imported, the Illustrator document is left open on the screen. • CFG Batch Tool The interface screen shot available on the interface link above shows the CopyFlow Gold Batch Dialog. • Close any open Illustrator documents and open the dialog with the Illustrator File->Script menu. • The Set Illustrator Doc Folder button is used to locate the folder containing the Illustrator documents to be processed. (The ".ai" files ) • The Set Text Export Folder button is used to locate the folder into which the text export files are written. • The Set Text Import Folder button is used to locate the folder from which text is imported. • The Export button begins the export process (see . • The Import buttonbegins the import process. • The Clear Log button clears the activity display. • The Settings Info button displays the current settings in the activity display. • The Prefs button opens the Preferences dialog. • The Help button opens an HTML page with help, tech support, and purchase information. • The Register button displays a dialog used to register the product with the keys emailed after purchase.
