Stylin’ enables the user to apply certain portions of a QuarkXPress style sheet to text while protecting local formatting. Style sheets are powerful formatting tools, but applying a style sheet may remove attributes that were applied locally. Stylin’ solves this problem with a couple of clicks of the mouse.Stylin’ uses a floating palette that contains all the paragraph and character style sheets for a QuarkXPress project. Click on one of the style sheet’s names and use the style sheet to override specific attributes. The attributes that are not reformatted are remembered between each use. This product will improve reformatting workflow.Stylin’ stores frequently used settings for easy recall. This prevents the need to constantly change the Stylin’ preferences. Shift + click on the style sheet in the Stylin’ palette and a simplified dialog interface enables the user to select the setting to apply.Option + click on the style sheet in the Stylin’ palette to choose the attributes to protect when the style sheet is applied to the text. Select the DPI for the resulting TIFFs so the resolution of the image is as great as desired. The exported graphic file is more portable than an EPS because, with TIFF graphics, the fonts are part of the image. VTools is a collection of useful editing and production tools.Advisory Board is an easy-to-use redlining and note tool for improving review workflows. The Advisory workflow is simple. When editing a document, select the altered text and click on either the Mark or Review buttons on the palette. Text that is to be deleted is marked in magenta; new or changed text is tagged for review in cyan. When the changes are approved, use the Next button to find each change and click on Fixed to remove the advisory. The magenta advisories are deleted and the cyan advisories are changed to black.Advisory Board also creates Advisory Notes. These notes are special boxes that Advisory Board can easily find and delete when they are no longer needed.The VTools palette puts several design and editing tools at easy access. Baseline shift and horizontal scale attributes are easily changed. Four buttons are included for rapid case conversion. Convert the selected text to uppercase, lowercase, word caps, or sentence caps with the click of one button. The Fit button resizes the current text or picture box to snugly fit its contents. VTools features a useful styling tool called Copy & Apply. This tool copies the text or paragraph attributes from one selection of text and applies them to another selection.VTools can rotate and skew the contents of a text box. Create unusual effects with text. Rotated text is different from rotating the box. With rotated text, the path the text follows rotates but it becomes constrained by the un-rotated box.Process Colors is a tool for changing the separation setting for spot colors. Simply toggle the process setting to on to separate the color. Xtags provides an enhanced version of the XPress Tags language supported by QuarkXPress. Both XPress Tags and Xtags import plain text files into QuarkXPress as fully formatted text, using special formatting codes embedded in the text file; and you can also export formatted text within a QuarkXPress document via both XPress Tags and Xtags.
