BatchOutput Server is a new powerful output workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. The software automates printing and exporting to PDF and PostScript by processing InDesign files from network-based hotfolders. BatchOutput Server automates, simplifies, and streamlines output workflows of publishing houses, printers, prepress service providers and ad agencies. Originally developed for a major publishing house in the United States, BatchOutput Server was thoroughly tested on site to ensure it met the demands of a fast-paced publishing production workflow. BatchOutput Server can process InDesign files from both Mac and Windows computers. Once the BatchOutput Server Workflow is installed, your operators stop wasting their time on waiting for InDesign to output files. The output process is taking place on the BatchOutput Server workstation. BatchOutput Server also contains a single set of output settings for entire workgroup, eliminating the need to set up and maintain the settings on each workstation. How it works: • Users choose the submit to BatchOutput Server command instead of print or export. • The document with its fonts is copied to the selected BatchOutput Server hot folders. • BatchOutput Server is installed on a dedicated station and runs absolutely unattended. It automatically outputs files according to the hot-folder settings (e.g., hi-res PDF, laser print, and so on). • BatchOutput Server automatically activates the document fonts. • Users check the output status from their own stations with the supplied monitor application — there's no need to walk up to the server station Installation of the BatchOutput Server workflow is extremely simple: 1. Put BatchOutput Server in the Applications folder on its dedicated station — no Plug-ins required. 2. Run the Components installer on the user stations to install the required software automatically.
