Variform PDF significantly extends the usability of Acrobat forms.
Until now, a significant barrier to using Acrobat forms is its focus on web-server applications; too many Acrobat users, such forms projects are beyond their reach, underfunded, or organizationally difficult to implement.
There are millions of private databases on desktop computers as spreadsheets, PC databases, and custom queries of mainframe data, all capable of producing the data in a delimited text file. Variform PDF enables the user to merge these data files into Acrobat forms, and print the results or save them to file (PostScript or PDF via Acrobat Distiller). By allowing the selection of any system font when merging field data, Variform PDF can maintain corporate identity standards making it great for a myriad of mail-merge, forms-filling, and other variable-data applications.
No need to edit every form field in the PDF to change fonts. Variform PDF's font-selection capability lets the user select any font on the system and assign it to form fields. Selected fonts will be used when Variform PDF merges the data. There is even an option to embed the fonts in the document for reuse the next time the form is merged.
Make personalized PDFs a breeze to create. Select from virtually any data source then merge to a PDF form. Output to new PDFs or directly to print, or even merge images to make customization more distinctive.
Features:
• use data from any Windows ODBC database, Adobe FDF/XFDF files, or delimited text files;
• output to any installed Windows printer or merge directly to new PDFs;
• support for merging images;
• option to flatten pages after merging;
• enhanced Variform hot folders for automation;
• and built-in IAC allows programmatic control of Variform Pro.
ARTS Split & Merge is an Acrobat Plug-in for splitting and merging batches of PDFs.

• new to v2.2, when splitting and retaining bookmarks and or links, documents will split over ten times faster than ever before;
• new to v 2.1, manage page marks with import and export features;
• split into n pages, into files containing n pages per file;

• split by page ranges, pages, or odd/even pages;
• split based on bookmark hierarchy;
• merge large document collections together;
• batch process, use Split command to process large PDF collections;
• retain links, update links, bookmarks and destinations between split PDFs;
• v2.2 will split ten times faster when retaining bookmarks and links;
• merge from control file for more advanced assembly;
• save and reuse jobs;
• enter the page range of each file added and append multiple jobs within the one control file;
• convert and combine from different file types, such as DOC, XLS, EPS, PDF, and so on in one step, no need to convert to PDF first;
• split option to update title using output file name will use the target file name (without the .PDF extension) as the document information title; and
• additional options to merge only odd pages, even pages, last page, or first page and to enter the page numbers in a text box (e.g., 1,2,5-10,100).
Split PDFs into a set of PDFs with each containing a specific number of pages. For example, choosing to split a 30-page PDF into five-page PDFs will produce six PDFs.
Use the page marks toolbar buttons to visually highlight sections of a PDF to split. Use them to name the files to be split and to add document information to them, including title, subject, author, and keywords.
Use the bookmark hierarchy and bookmark levels to determine how to split PDFs. This can be particularly useful when bookmarks are based on the sections and structure of PDFs. When splitting, ARTS Split & Merge uses the bookmark text to form the file names of the resulting PDFs.
Benefits:
• ARTS Split & Merge Lite enables the user to split PDFs based on first-level bookmarks.
• ARTS Split & Merge Plus enables the user to split PDFs based on any range of bookmark levels. For example, to create a separate PDF based on sections, and if the chapters and headings are all level 2 and 3 bookmarks, setting the levels as 2 to 3 would generate the correct splitting process.
Combine the use of parameters in the split by page range feature to perform splitting processes.
Benefits:
• split individual pages into new file(s);
• split page ranges into new file(s);
• combine pages and pages ranges;
• separate page ranges into separate output files;
• extract unwanted pages;
• use overlapping page ranges to create multiple files;
• split into odd and even pages; or
• reverse page order.
By combining page numbers with simple parameters (commas, dashes, semicolons, odd, and even), specify which pages should be merged together to form a new PDF, and which pages should be split separately to form another PDF.
A common problem when splitting PDFs is that most of the connections between the links and their end points are broken as they are no longer located in the same PDF or because the pages have been rearranged. The advanced update navigation elements feature updates all these links in bookmarks, links, and destinations, ensuring all links are maintained.
Merge large PDF collections together using the properties of the files to be merged. It's easy to order files prior to adding them to the merge list — making it much easier to manage when trying to merge a large number of PDFs. Once PDFs are added to the merge list, edit the order and page ranges to be included in the merge. Supports an unlimited number of files per process.
Use the split command to process batches of PDFs. Acrobat comes with its own batch-processing tool that enables the user to set up simple processes by combining a series of commands. ARTS Split & Merge adds the split command, allowing the user to combine these with Acrobat's built-in commands to process large batches of PDFs.
A range of file-naming conventions includes the addition of a base file name, as well as a range of suffixes that can be added, including: number, padded number starting at, page range (pxx-pyy), letter, or nothing (used in splitting by bookmarks or page marks).
